Lovely place, beautifully appointed with nice fixtures and fittings. Although not a huge place, Keynvor Cottage was ideal for the two of us with ample space to relax and spread our things out. Great views to wake up to each morning and nice space outside with both the garden and patio area for coffee, breakfast etc. Very warm welcome from Ailsa on arrival and we also had some lovely home-made scones waiting for us. Falmouth only 5-10 minutes away by car/bus/taxi (we tried all three) but the village is just a short and pleasant walk around the corner with a friendly pub that served us nice fresh fish. Highly recommend. Try the coastal walk and check out Bream beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable and well equipped cottage. There were so many thoughtful touches, including a delicious cream tea on our arrival. There are beautiful beaches and gardens within walking distance, and a welcoming pub and Italian owned restaurant in the nearby village. The view from the cottage is stunning and we spent one morning just sitting in the garden watching dinghies sailing and swallows flying overhead. We can’t wait to return.

Keynvor Cottage is a beautifully appointed barn conversion, which has been very thoughtfully furnished and is also extremely well equipped – no need to pack all your favourite kitchen gadgets as I did! A warm welcome from Ailsa ensured we settled in and felt at home straight away. The local village has a great little authentic Italian restaurant that we visited one evening and were made very welcome by the staff and owner. Falmouth is also only a 10 minute drive away with some good local restaurants too – and a couyple of great beaches on the way. This is a particularly pretty corner of Cornwall with numerous little coastal villages to explore down the coast to Lizard. The Ferry Boat Inn at Helford Passage is also worth a visit and is only a 15 minute drive away. Although next to a road, it’s so quiet that traffic noise isn’t a problem at all. And just metres from the driveway is a path down through some woods to Nansidwell Cove Beach (on a National Trust coastal path), a mixture of sand and rocks, with lots of rock pools to explore at low tide. Spotlessly clean, even in late September it was still warm enough to swim in the shallow water. A great place to get away from it all and recharge your batteries. We will most definitely be back and cannot recommend the cottage and hosts Ailsa and Chris enough. Well worth the trip!

Great cottage for two adults. High quality fixtures and fittings, everything you could possiblly need for a holiday. Lots of nice touches throughout and we would have no hesitation in coming back again. An amazing beach is within 10 minutes (downhill..) from where there is a choice of wonderful coastal walks. Falmouth is a short drive away, we ate at the fabulous Cove restaurant which is five mins away as well so you are very well catered for in terms of where to eat. We used the washer drier which was very efficient and also the dishwasher. Ailsa had left dishwasher tablets and detergent so very thoughtful. Ailsa was in the nearby house but never intruded just introduced herself and kept in touch by text. We did visit a number of places including St Ives and Penzance but liked Falmouth the most. Also ate at The Brig in Falmouth which is great – smallest restaurant I have been in for a long time but great food and atmosphere. All in all If you are looking for a five star experience close to the coast with decent restaurants nearby but the option to cook for yourselves – this is for you!

The Barn is situated just outside the village of Mawnan Smith and within easy walking distance of a number of circular walks of varying degrees of difficulty. More importantly, it has easy access to the South West Coastal Path which if venturing to the west brings you breathtaking views of the Helford River and it’s estuary. The location of the Barn is very peaceful with unrestricted views out to sea from the front garden. The roads around the area are very narrow and whilst this did not cause any problems during March, it may be a different story in High Season. The property was accurately described and was spotlessly clean. The standard of electrical equipment was excellent and above what would normally be provided. The owner lives in the adjacent farmhouse and was ver4y attentive to detail and visitor requirements without being intrusive. Would certainly recommend it to friends & family. We found an excellent Italian Restaurant in Falmouth called Mangia and run by the Floris family. Valter, the chef, is from Northern Italy and every thing sold to the public is freshly prepared and cooked by him. So it is homemade pasta, pizza and ice cream and local seafood as a speciality. Do go you will not be disappointed.

We stayed for five night over the Easter holidays. The accommodation was exactly as described and lived up to the previous reviews it has received. Location is excellent for exploring Cornwall with Falmouth close enough to provide a whole variety of eating out opportunities. We especially enjoyed the daily pre breakfast walk down to the small beach with the dog. If you are looking for a top quality well equipped cottage we would highly recommend this one.

Keynvor Cottage was everything we could have wished for. With sea views from the garden and beautiful walks straight from the door, it was a little bit of paradise. Bream Cove, a 5-10 minute walk downhill, was so unspoilt – hard to find places like that now. Coastal path closeby – lovely views especially from Mawnan Church towards the Helford River – ideal for us with our dog. We didn’t have to travel far – lots of eating places nearby including Italian restaurant in the village, Trebah Gardens well worth a visit. Falmouth also approx. 10 minute drive away. The cottage was spotlessly clean and recently refurbished – nice kitchen and bathroom. It also had it’s own private garden in which to sit and watch the boats go by. Lovely home made scones and goodies on arrival. Just writing this makes me wish I was back there now – and I’ve only been home a week! Ten out of ten.

Thank you Ailsa for a lovely stay in your cottage. My husband, 4 month old daughter and I stayed here for a week in July for our first family holiday. The cottage was very modern, everything you could want for a week away. Ailsa kindly supplied us with a travel cot to save us bringing ours, and we were greeted with scones, clotted cream and other thoughtful touches to start our stay. The cottage is quiet although it is on the ‘main’ road and very warm. It was lovely to have dinner on the front lawn with fantastic sea views every night.

The accommodation was very well fitted out and a very good size for our needs, but most importantly, we could take our dog Tayler. The view out to sea was splendid, especially early morning and at sunset. We had a few inclement days, but the barn was so comfortable that staying in and relaxing was not a problem. Local amenities were very good and there were good walks down to two beaches where we could take the dog. Falmouth was not far away and had all you could need. Even closer was a superb restaurant called the Cove, great food and a great view. The owners were delightful , very friendly and very helpful. If ever we are down this way again we would certainly look to stay at Keynvor again. Thanks Ailsa and Chris, we so much enjoyed our stay.
